Established in 1924, the Berri Golf Club is one of South Australia’s oldest and most welcoming golf clubs. Originally laid out on the river flats near the town centre, the course relocated after WWII to its present rolling sandhill site in the heart of Berri.
Today the 18-hole layout (Par 71, 6019m Men; Par 73, 5284m Women) features fully irrigated fairways weaving through mallee trees and natural surrounds, leading to challenging greens often shared with resident kangaroos and emus.
The Club hosts regular weekly competitions, popular Friday night Twilight events during daylight savings, and the renowned Berri Open each August – one of the Riverland’s premier tournaments – while maintaining a friendly, inclusive atmosphere for members and visitors alike.
On course, the award-winning Big River Tavern, operated by the Berri Hotel Group, offers quality bistro dining, full bar facilities and golf bookings seven days a week. Visitors can also enjoy modern stay-and-play options including the new Par Five Shacks, setting a new benchmark for comfort and quality golf escapes in the Riverland and convenient on-site motel accommodation.
