Riverland Wins McInnes / Dougherty Cup
The Riverland and Sunraysia Golf Associations’ McInnes / Dougherty Cup Challenge which is played annually between
the two associations, was won by Riverand 5½ matches to 4½ matches at this year’s
Loxton Golf Open.
This is the first occasion Riverland has won the Cup since
the inaugural challenge 11 years ago.
Sunraysia Secretary, Greg McCubbin, presented the cup to Riverland
President, Peter Harman, at the announcement of the result.
Pennant Finals A Close Affair In All Grades
The finals of the Riverland Golf Association held recently
at Waikerie proved to be a very close affair in all grades with the winning
teams all sneaking across the line with 3/2 victories.
Loxton Golf Club was the most successful club winning
A-Grade, C-Grade and D-Grade, while Berri won the B-Grade.
Loxton also took out the Cobdogla & District Club shield
for the club winning the most games across all grades during the minor round.
